Fasting Intermittently to Lose Weight

Monday, February 23, 2009

I wanted to talk to you about fasting intermittently to lose weight. This is a relatively new way to eat that has been proven to do a lot of great things to help you. The first point to get across is that you can eat the same amount of calories on average and skill lose weight. Even though that is a great point, but there is more. People were better able to deal with stress due to an increase in anti-stress hormones being produce. People were also believe to be able to live longer because the body was much better at handling any sort of health issue. I think that makes it a significant way to eat and at least deserves a little bit of attention. I want to talk to you about fasting intermittently to lose weight.

You're probably thinking there is a catch to this whole thing if you can still eat the same amount of calories on average and lose weight. Well, there is a structure to the diet. You have a full 24 hour period to eat as much as you feel like. The next 24 hour period is your fast where you have to survive on water. The good part about this is that you can eat what you want and as much as you want, even if it is fattening.

Fasting intermittently to lose weight is actually a natural way to eat and I would argue that our body is designed to work this way. If you go back in time to the days when humans were forced to hunt to eat, well, what would their diet look like? If they caught something, they'd eat and if they didn't, they'd go without. Seems highly likely that intermittent fasting was their diet.
